Regions
In Tigunia Royalties Management, regions are used to define from where Items are allowed to be sold, and where Items are allowed to be sold to. There are two types of regions: Origin Regions and Sell Regions. They are stored in separate tables, in order to have the flexibility to set each one up in its own independent configuration.
Origin Regions and Sell Regions are required for sales transactions, and transactions outside of those regions cannot be posted. Together with a Start- and End Date, the regions are the primary elements in a Contract. Sales transactions are only allowed when the Location and the Sell-to Country on the sales transaction is set up with a valid contract in the Royalties Management system.
Origin Regions
The first type of region is the Origin Region, which defines the region from which items can be sold. To set up Origin Regions:
- Go to the Home page of the Business Manager Role Center by clicking on the Company Name on the left side of the main menu, right underneath where it says Dynamics 365 Business Central. The company name in our screenshots is CRONUS USA, Inc.
- Expand the Royalty menu by clicking on it
- Select Origin Regions to open that page from the main menu selection, as shown in the screenshot below.

For our sample data, we have created the following records:

To manage Origin Region records:
- Click the Manage menu
- Click Edit List

This will open an editable version of the Origin Regions page, where you can manage existing records and create new records as well.
Another way to open the editable version of the Origin Regions screen is to click the “+ New” button on the top menu
Origin Regions and Locations
Origin Regions are linked to Locations in standard Business Central, since that is where Items are shipped from. Locations can only be assigned to a single Origin Region.
To create the link between Origin Regions and Locations:
- Click the Navigate menu at the top of the Origin Regions screen
- Click on the Locations selection
This will open the Origin Region Locations screen. To manage Origin Region Location records:
- Put the screen in edit mode by using the Edit List toggle button at the top of the screen
- Modify existing records by putting your cursor in one of the fields and modify its value
- Create new records by arrowing down to a new empty record. You will notice that the Origin Region Code will be populated automatically with the value of the Origin Region record from which you opened the Origin Region Location screen
In our sample data, we now have two Origin Regions (NORTHAM and SOUTHAM), and we have assigned three Locations to the NORTHAM Origin Region:
Sell Regions
The second type of region is the Sell Region. To maintain Sell Region records, open the Sell Regions page from the main menu selection on the Role Center home page, as shown in the screenshot below.
For our sample data, we have created the following records:

To manage Sell Region records:
- Click the Manage menu
- Click Edit List
This will open an editable version of the Sell Regions page, where you can manage existing records and create new records as well.

Another way to open the editable version of the Origin Regions screen is to click the “+ New” button on the top menu
In our sample data, the Sell Region records have the same values as the Origin Regions. This was done so that we can easily align transactions later on. If you choose to, you can structure your Origin Regions and Sell Regions with different values. They do not have to be the same.
Sell Regions and Countries
Sell Regions are linked to Countries in standard Business Central. Tigunia Royalties Management looks at the Country that belongs to the Ship-to Customer in sales transactions. Countries can only be assigned to a single Sell Region.
To create the link between Sell Regions and Countries:
- Click the Navigate menu at the top of the Sell Regions screen
- Click on the Countries selection
This will open the Sell Region Countries screen, where you can link Sell Regions records to the Country table in standard Business Central. To manage Sell Region Country records:
- Put the screen in edit mode by using the Edit List toggle button at the top of the screen
- Modify existing records by putting your cursor in one of the fields and modify its value
- Create new records by arrowing down to a new empty record. You will notice that the Sell Region Code will be populated automatically with the value of the Sell Region record from which you opened the Sell Region Country screen

We now have two Sell Regions (NORTHAM and SOUTHAM) and we have assigned three countries to the NORTHAM Sell Region. This will be important later on when we calculate royalties transactions.
