Voluntary contribution and active engagement within a product community is something to be awarded and celebrated, especially in the Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Business Central space. We are proud to announce that two exceptional Tigunians, Dave Wiser and Steve Chinsky, will be receiving 2019 Gemstone Awards, the highest level of recognition to the most actively involved Dynamic Communities user group members.
The annual Gemstone Awards are presented by Microsoft Dynamic Communities to recognize users who give back to the community. Points of service and activity within a user group community are accumulated each year and members who exceed 1000 points receive the award. For partner users, the Granite gemstone is the only one offered. For client users, there are three levels based on points earned: Emerald, Ruby, and Sapphire.
This year, Dave and Steve have both contributed significantly to the Dynamics NAV and Dynamics 365 Business Central User Group Community (NAVUG/BCUG). Through speaking events, leadership roles on governing boards and local user groups, and a continued presence on the forum, Dave and Steve have worked hard to help other Dynamics NAV and Dynamics 365 Business Central users leverage the technology and improve the way they use it within their businesses. While this is not their first win – Steve has won the Granite Award four times and Dave has won the Granite Award twice and the Emerald Award once – each of them has gone above and beyond this year.
Dave Wiser is a Solutions Consultant here at Tigunia. In 2019, he presented at Microsoft Focus and Summit North America and served on boards, including the NAVUG/BCUG Programming Committee and Board of Advisors. He has also been an active voice within the community, regularly sharing valuable knowledge through blog posts and answering forum questions. “It is truly an honor to be recognized by the community with this award, but recognition is not what I seek,” said Dave when asked about his contribution. “Helping the community learn more about Dynamics NAV and Business Central is my motivation.” This is Dave’s third Gemstone Award. He previously won a Granite Gemstone as a partner and an Emerald Gemstone as a client user.
Steve Chinsky is Tigunia’s Senior Functional Consultant for Dynamics NAV and Business Central. To receive his Granite Award this year, Steve was a local user group leader in the New York City and Boston NAVUG/BCUG Chapter. He presented at Microsoft Focus, Summit North America, and other virtual webinars, in addition to organizing the 2020 All-Star Webinar Series, which is a collaboration among all the NAVUG/BCUG All-Stars to share valuable knowledge on Dynamics NAV and Business Central every month. On top of all that, Steve was also the Programming Committee Track Leader for Trade, Supply Chain Management, and Get Started; and he is the NAV/BC Medic evangelist contact.
“I am so humbled to earn my fourth Granite Award from the NAVUG/BCUG community,” said Steve. “It is an honor to work with an amazing group of individuals with a passion and willingness to help their fellow user group members. This recognition only inspires me to strive for new ways to energize and reach members to both learn and expand their Dynamics NAV and Business Central knowledge and abilities.”
At Tigunia, we are focused on transferring knowledge to our fellow Dynamics NAV and Dynamics 365 Business Central users and helping them get the most out of the technology. We are so proud of Dave and Steve’s accomplishments and the huge impact they have had on other users and community members this year.
